Best Color of Bedroom Wall for Cherry Wood Furniture

My boyfriend and I bought a house. He has cherry wood bedroom furniture, 2 dressers and 1 nightstand. I want to paint the walls a lighter color to reflect the light, and to offset the dark wood. Any suggestions on what color should we pick for the painting? Thanks a lot!
